Exercises To Lose Weight that Work Really Well

Posted by Mind Power Master

Can you use exercise to lose weight? Yes, so long as your diet is revamped as part of your program!

It’s probably safe to say that half of all Americans need to, or want to, lose weight. Maybe you want to drop just 10 pounds, mainly so your current wardrobe still fits attractively. Other people have significant weight problems and need to lose 50 pounds or more. Besides your physical appearance, your motivation includes health concerns. Once you form a pattern of overeating every day, with a penchant for sweets, fatty foods and other junk type foods, this can be a hard habit to break. Some people think that, exclusively using exercise to lose weight, they can keep right on eating as usual. The rationale is that when you employ the exercise to lose weight program, you’re burning calories, so you’ll reach your goal without changing your diet, or at least not by much. It won’t work. Let’s see why.

1.What does exercise accomplish in a weight loss program? Whether you need to shed 10, 50 or 100 pounds, this means that your body has excess fat. An exercise program burns off excess fat, while toning flabby muscles and providing benefits to your cardiovascular system. On the other hand, if you only modify your diet and don’t exercise, when weight comes off, you’ll be left with sagging skin all over your body, not an attractive result.

2.Exercise alone won’t get you to your goal. Why? If you watch the ‘Biggest Losers’ TV show, you might know that after couples partners had spent time at the program’s official weight loss and training center, one of the couples from each ‘team’ were sent home for one month to see how they did on their own. Some, who adhered to both the diet and exercise regimens on their own, lost significant weight, one man losing 25 pounds. Others, who abandoned the diet, but worked out for hours every day, lost no more than two pounds! That’s proof that when you exercise to lose weight, a healthy diet is a must for success.

3.How does a healthy diet program affect weight loss? The bottom line to losing weight is reducing your caloric intake. If you reduce your daily intake by 500 calories, you’ll lose about a pound a week. When you don’t drop the sugar laden foods, those calories turn right back into fat. When you add plenty of fiber-rich, complex carbohydrates, you get a reversal of this effect. The calories these foods contain often require that your body burns more calories than the food contains. So you realize a net reduction in calories consumed. Add in the exercise to lose weight factor and you’ve effectively reduced your calorie consumption on all sides, resulting in safe and maximum weight loss.

You can see that, if you’re serious about losing weight, diet and exercise work hand in hand. Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you can simply exercise to lose that weight!

Exercises To Lose Weight Quickly and Easily

Exercises To Lose Weight Quickly

For me, part of the joy of fitness exercises is simply taking my time and enjoying getting into shape. I’m not a slacker, but I rarely need to do my exercises to lose weight quickly. For me, it is a lot more fun if I have the time to really give it my all and not worry about results as much as the process of getting there.

Nonetheless, a few months ago I was in quite a state. You see, I had a friend’s wedding to go to, and I was getting a little bit chubby. For the first time in my life, I wanted to lose weight fast, but I didn’t have enough time to do it. I usually keep myself in tip top shape, but between a frantic work schedule and some emotional issues, I had been getting a little bit lazy and you could see the evidence around my belly line. I decided to do something about it.

One of the interesting things I found out about exercises to lose weight quickly was that the exercise doesn’t matter so much as your approach to it. There are many different weight loss exercises, but generally the common point is that you keep your heart pumping for an extended period of time. You do a warm-up session, a mid-intensity session, a high-intensity session, and then vary the intensity until you’re ready to cool down. That way, your heart is always beating even when you aren’t giving it your all. Apparently, this is much more effective for weight loss than a short burst of peak exercise.

Another important technique shared by most exercises to lose weight quickly is cross training. By using many different kinds of weight loss exercises along with some strengthening and conditioning exercises, you can maximize the amount of calories you burn. This is because you burn calories by developing new muscle, by getting your heart rate up, and by switching your activities. Your body can easily get adapted to one particular type of exercise, so by switching it up you keep the stress high, increasing weight loss and fitness potential. In short, it doesn’t matter so much what exercise to lose weight quickly you use; It matters that you do it for a sustained period of time and switch it up whenever you can. It worked for me – I lost the 10 pounds and then some. Hopefully, it will work for you too.

Exercises To Improve Posture that Work Great

Exercises To Improve Posture

Poor posture is a common problem all across this country and across the world. People spend so much time typing that they often develop back injuries far before their time. Doing just a few exercises to improve posture a day might not seem like that much, but it really will make a difference. Improving your posture means maintaining it one day at a time. You might be surprised by how quickly you will feel the health benefits of having a comfortable, strong back.

One of the best exercises to improve your posture is to do crunches. A lot of the research suggests that our posture is linked to the strength of our core muscles. A strong core leads to a healthy back, and that leads to better overall health as we get older. Strengthening the stomach muscles is one way to improve your posture.

Of course, you should do some other exercises to improve posture that target the back muscles as well. If you only target your stomach muscles, you’ll have an imbalance in the muscles that support your posture. One of my favorite posture exercises is to use a balance ball and lay forward on it so that it is in the middle of my stomach. My knees are flat on the floor and my hands extend forward in front of me. I then repeatedly let my self down and pull back up using my back muscles. This has a similar effect to doing crunches, except that it works the back instead of the front.

Another great exercise to improve posture is leg lifts. There are probably dozens of different leg lift exercises, but you should be sure the ones you do balance each other out. I usually use two of them. In one, I lay on my back and raise my legs in the air repeatedly. In the other, I stand on all fours and kick my legs out behind me one at a time. These exercises are always helpful in relieving back pain and stress.

Finally, there are exercises to improve posture that specifically target the back. One of my favorites is the cat/cow stretch. Basically, you stand on your hands and knees and alternately flex and arch your back. You do this slowly in harmony with the breath for several minutes. It is amazing how quickly it will provide relief from chronic back pain. It can make you feel better almost instantly sometimes.
