It is a strange thing to say, but there are many otherwise intelligent men who have an inability to understand women at all. It isn’t just that men and women have different communication styles. For guys like this, It is like women come from another planet. These men have trouble getting dates, don’t tend to keep close relationships with female friends, and even get into difficulty with female coworkers in the workplace. Understanding women isn’t just a matter of learning to meet singles and mingle effectively – for some guys, a whole set of social skills is lacking.
I had a friend who definitely fit into this category admirably. He had some female friends, but would always be embarrassingly awkward around them. He always asked me questions about understanding women – broad questions that I couldn’t answer easily. He’d ask what women wanted, how to get them to like you, and things like that. It was kind of embarrassing for both of us now that I think about it. It was like his problems understanding women were so deep that he needed someone to explain how to have a conversation.
He ended up getting one of those books on how to meet attractive women and, for about half a year, he treated it like it was his Bible. He would always go out to meet singles in bars, and try to get as many phone numbers as he could. The first few times he struck out horribly, but soon he was getting up to the task. He was having an easier time understanding women, and they were having an easier time relating to him.
The only problem was that he still couldn’t deal with women as friends. He would get to a certain point in the relationship and no further. He could understand how to seduce women and make them like him, but he could not keep their interest for more than a month.
By this point, he was much less afraid of women than he used to be, so I sat him down and decided to have a little chat. I told him what he needed to hear – that there was no big secret to understanding women. Each woman is different, and like men, women have be treated as individuals. Of course this is an obvious truth to me, but for him it was sort of a revelation. Once he heard it, his whole mode of interacting changed. He was no longer the slimy guy who I used to know. Suddenly, he was a down to earth decent sort of guy who was staying in touch with his female friends and meeting some great girls. I don’t know what the breakthrough was, but I’m glad that he now understands women.

When you embark on a diet, your goal is two-fold. First, you want to lose weight. Second, you want to tone up. Dieters often ask, “How can i tighten loose skin after losing weight?” The simple answer is to tighten that loose flabby skin that results in a weight loss program during, not after losing weight. That’s the best approach. While you can deal with that loose, flabby and unattractive aftermath, tightening loose skin while losing weight is easier and brings a more gratifying result. Why prolong your weight loss program? Tightening loose skin while losing weight kills two birds with one effort.
When you’re dieting, calculating your body mass index (BMI) can provide clues as to the level and type of exercise you’ll need in tightening loose skin while dieting. Naturally, the more fat you’ve got to get rid of, the more of the flabby skin effect you should expect. Here’s the formula:
1.Your height, in inches, times itself.
2.Your weight, in pounds, times 703.
3.Divide the result of step 2 by the result of step 1.
The result is your BMI. A BMI of 25 – 29.9 means you are overweight. A result of 30 or more is classified as obese. For example, if your BMI is 25, the task of tightening loose skin while losing weight should not be too arduous. However, if it calculates out at 30 or above, you’ll want to implement a fairly rigorous exercise program to rid yourself of the loose skin as you reduce your weight.
If you’re just slightly overweight, light weight lifting, swimming or aerobics may be all you need to tone your muscles as you lose weight. On the other hand, if your BMI is high, you’ll want to get into some daily forms of exercise that puts a little more ‘oomph’ into getting rid of that excess flab. Taking a martial arts class can provide some incredible results. Qualified martial arts instructors are quite careful to not tax an individual student’s body, while maximizing your ability to tone up your body. Talk to your instructor, explaining that one of your objectives is tightening loose skin while losing weight and getting fit. The instructors pay close attention to the needs of each student. Martial arts are fun and, while getting fit, you’ll develop skills in self defense as well.
No matter what your BMI or weight, yoga is another option, especially good is you have a health condition that limits movement, such as arthritis. Sign up for a yoga class and stick with it. Yoga movements are neither difficult or strenuous, but tones your muscles in a way that dispenses with the flab automatically, over time.
If you’re significantly overweight, joining a gym or buying a weight training video may be the way to go. You’ll gradually work up to incrementally increasing the amount of weights you can lift, as well as increasing the time you spend doing your weight training program. Before you go for this option, be sure to clear it with your physician to be sure it’s a safe option for you.
Don’t worry about tightening loose skin while losing weight. It’s certainly doable. You just need to integrate it into your diet program and choose the form of exercise that’s right for you. Your doctor is the one who can best advise you. You’ll be fit and good looking in the end!

It may sound strange to hear, but many people are programmed for failure. We come up with all sorts of rationalizations, but what it really comes down to is that we are used to not succeeding. We learn all kinds of habits that defeat us, from putting off work over and over again to repeating self-defeating predictions to ourselves until they become self-fulfilling prophecies. Success coaching is a simple idea, but a powerful one: by focusing on learning the techniques, habits, and skills of success, we can all become more productive, successful, and happy people.
Of course, the idea of success coaching isn’t exactly new. As matter of fact, it has its antecedents in many disciplines of psychology. Freud himself did a lot of work on the self-defeating and self-undermining attitudes that so many people have. He had his own theory about why they occur, as other psychologists had their own theories. The success coach doesn’t focus so much on the theories as on the behaviors themselves. In success coaching, we don’t really try to look for the underlying causes, but find out the ways you can break through the behaviors.
I have only been successful for a short time, and I spent many years as an extremely unproductive, unsuccessful person. I had friends who are life coaches and even knew a few people who were involved in this success movement, but none of them really rubbed off on me. Ultimately, I have always been the kind of person who has to make his own mistakes. I only got into success coaching after everything else failed for me. When I finally hit bottom, I knew that I had to take a stand and change things. I looked at my own life my own habits and made a list of everything I do wrong and everything I do right. Then I systematically decided how I was going to take the wrong and turn it right.
Of course I’m making things sound simpler than they are. For me, success coaching was quite a struggle. As a matter of fact, it took me a few years to get my life back on track. By the time that I realized there were success coaches out there and that I could get the training myself, I had already worked through most of the basic principles on my own. In some ways, this made it a deeper lesson. You can learn a lot from other people, but sometimes having to figure things out yourself makes the message that much more profound. Nonetheless, sometimes I wish that I had had someone step in in those early years and tell me what to do. It would have saved me a lot of time and struggle if nothing else.
