Learn Magic Tricks to Impress Your Friends
Learn Magic Tricks to Impress Your Friends
Have you ever seen a street magician performing various acts of sleight-of-hand out on the corner? If you have, then you’ve probably noticed a substantial crowd gathered around him or her, oohing and aahing at every new feat. Nobody can resist watching a magician at work — including me. In fact, I’ve been fascinated by this stuff for so long that I think it’s high time to learn magic tricks myself.
I don’t plan on turning in public performances on street corners or anything like that, but I still think it would be cool to learn magic tricks. I can just imagine wowing my friends and family with an amazing card or coin trick that will leave them in awe. I’m already pretty good with my hands and believe that I have the dexterity required to learn magic tricks quickly. All I have to do is find some fun ones that are suitable for beginners so I can start practicing.
A quick search on the Internet yielded hundreds of websites dedicated to budding magicians of all ages. The best of these sites are 100 percent free, and offer either detailed step-by-step photographs or video tutorials to help you learn magic tricks the right way. After visiting a couple of these sites, I’ve already learned a couple of neat moves that I can’t wait to show off for my friends. For instance, I’ve discovered how to make a spectator unwittingly choose a certain card from the deck, which is a key technique for performing guess-the-card predictions. In addition, I’ve uncovered the secret to a terrific vanishing coin trick, as well as a few others. I never knew it would be so easy to learn magic tricks online!
Of course, most of the free websites stop at the basics, so if I want to continue on to intermediate or advanced techniques, I’m going to have to spend a bit of money. I did some checking and found a bunch of DVDs that can help me learn magic tricks at home, and these were all reasonably priced at $9.99 or less. I’m going to read some reviews of these DVDs to find out which ones are actually worth the purchase price, and then go ahead and place my order.
I’m sure there are some people out there who think that it’s lame for an adult to want to learn magic tricks, but I don’t care. I find this sort of thing to be highly entertaining and a lot of fun, so I’m going to continue with my newfound hobby. I’m not saying that I’ll eventually be able to make the Statue of Liberty disappear like David Copperfield did, but I’ll at least be able to elicit a few smiles at a dinner gathering or party!
